Ok guys, just some reminders for the HCL 'O' Levels Oral THIS THURSDAY, 3rd JULY

i) Do read up on the notes Mr Suah gave out in class before the end of term 2, it'll give you some pointers on what to say

ii) For those who went for Mr Suah's oral remedials during the June hols, do practice with the copies of passages he handed out. (For those who did not attend, maybe you would want to sai kang your friends into lending you those papers to photocopy =P)

iii) IMPORTANT: On the test date itself, you MUST bring your entry proof that Mr Tan gave out AS WELL AS your NRIC (not ez-link card) and hand it over to the examiner before your oral test. For those who are yet to be 15 and don't have your NRIC, you MUST bring along your PASSPORT instead.

iv) UPDATE: On the day itself, you'll be released at 12:30pm, and you have to be at the area near classsroom 4B (The classrooms on the 3rd level, where the prefects and CMC often have their meetings in the morning) by 12:50pm. At 1pm Mr Suah and possibly another teacher will come in and do some final preparation for us, and the test is at 2:15pm at the school hall. Check out the notice board outside the General Office on the seating plan.

v) On the day itself, please wear your tie and make sure your nametag, school badge and attire is all in place. A good outward appearance would sai kang the teacher to giving you more marks.

Mug hard for your Oral, cos it constitutes a significant portion of your Chinese marks for 'O' Level. Hey, a good start is half the battle won, don't you think?

Cheers,
Joseph =)

Maths Questions 10 to 13

Finally I know how to do those questions, so there here's the trick.

If  a is directly proportional to x,
you can say that  a  = kx
where k is a constant.

If a is inversely proportional to x,
you can say that  a = 1 / x   OR x^-1

Final Reminders

This serves as a last warning and reminder to all you guys there.

1) Homework has to be done or else you face the wrath of the respective teachers. English passion pamphlet can wait till Friday, English assignments Tuesday, Chemistry Tuesday but the rest all Monday.

2) Timetable changes. VERY IMPORTANT. Download from sharepoint.

3) Sign your report books and bring them back to school on Monday.

4) Don't waste too much time on Euro 2008. I'd rather you sleep until 2.30am before you switch on your TV instead of staying up all night. The final is on Sunday night, or in Singapore, Monday 30th June, 2.45am. And don't get too disappointed about the false hopes Croatia had when facing their mighty Turkey opponents. It was just pure bad luck that 2 goals came in the last few minutes followed by screwed up penalties. And also don't get too disappointed after Russia defeated Holland in a match that was so darn similar to the Croatia VS Turkey match.

5) Homecoming! I thought everything for planning came to a standstill?

6) By Nicc Haw. You shall die a horrible death if he doesn't get your Chemistry File if you haven't hand it in.

Higher Chinese 'O' Level

HEEELLLLOOOO!!!

Ok guys Joseph here, got some inside scoop on the 'O' levels Oral exam this year (ARRGHHH!!!).

Apparently it will be held on WEEK 2 of TERM 3, 3rd of July (P.S. this is the same week we have our PHYSICS class test; by the way, I'm NOT hinting to Mr Yong to have the test POSTPONED :P)

Our class will, however, be most probably be in the afternoon, (I'll inform you guys as soon as I get the timing), most probably after 3-1 and 3-2 have gone.

Good thing our cohort will be going after the Sec 4 Express Chinese students, so we can have more time to slac... I MEAN,
Study!!!

So do push on for better results, and I'll do my best to keep you guys informed as soon as I get the details from Mr Suah ya?

Joseph :)

Welcome Back UK Guys

For the four of you, please do check older posts for updates and sharepoint for homework. Do share photos if you want to. Ask Johnervan if you wish to be granted permission to post on this blog. Just remember not to spam or else you'll face really dire consequences.

Once again, just note that there's maths homework uploaded by ALICE LONG. It's not LIM MEI WAH so you'd better do it now than later or else you'll have to chiong when school re-opens.

Just for your interest, UK guys, remember that your Oxford hotel is located in the outskirts of Reading? Reading (pronounced as RED-ing) is my hometown and birthplace. And after taking the tube in London, you ought to appreciate how clean, spacious and comfortable Singapore MRT trains are.

Updates Updates and More Updates

Homework:

Biology stuff has been uploaded if you didn't know. 85 MCQs are there (quite easy, save for a few) plus tons of essay questions (many are easy, a few challenging ones though). All to be done by 23rd June, the first day of school in Term 3.

Physics Pressure worksheet should be do-able. The Final Year Mock Paper may pose some problems but I believe you can easily do at least 60% of the questions using your secondary 3 knowledge. You can try the topics that have not been taught yet, such as heat, light and kinetic particle theory.
UPDATE: THERE IS MATHS HOMEWORK. Check Heymath assignments. It's Logarithms for Additional Maths (15 boring questions). Logarithms.. i'm getting bored....
Remedials:

Higher Chinese only. Report to school on 18th and 19th for those of you down for remedial. 10am to 11.30am as usual. Attendance will be taken.

UK trip people:
They're now in London and will be in London for the next 2 or 3 days. Itinerary covers London, Stratford-upon-avon, Lake District (Carlisle probably) and Oxford. They'll be coming back on the 9th, landing at 1.50pm on Flight QR638 at Terminal 3. This information is handy for those who wish to go the airport and welcome your friends back from the UK. =P Too bad I won't be one of those because I'll be off to Canada from 3rd to 13th June.
